Protein Overnight Oats (Printable Version)

Creamy make-ahead oats loaded with protein, Greek yogurt, and chia seeds for a satisfying morning meal.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Base

01 - 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
02 - 1½ cups unsweetened milk (dairy or plant-based)
03 - 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
04 - 1 tablespoon chia seeds
05 - ½ cup Greek yogurt
06 - 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup

→ Optional Add-ins & Toppings

07 - ½ cup fresh berries
08 - 2 tablespoons nut butter (peanut, almond, or other)
09 - 2 tablespoons chopped nuts or seeds
10 - ½ banana, sliced

# Directions:

01 - In a medium mixing bowl or meal prep jar, add the rolled oats, protein powder, chia seeds, and Greek yogurt.
02 - Pour in the milk and drizzle honey or maple syrup over the mixture. Stir thoroughly until everything is well blended and the consistency is smooth.
03 - Cover the bowl or seal the jar tightly and place it in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours, allowing the oats to absorb the liquid and soften while the flavors meld together.
04 - In the morning, give the oats a good stir. Add a small splash of extra milk if you prefer a thinner, creamier texture.
05 - Top with fresh berries, a dollop of nut butter, chopped nuts or seeds, and sliced banana. Serve cold directly from the jar or bowl.

# Quick Tips:

01 -
  • You literally spend five minutes the night before and breakfast is waiting for you like a gift from your past self.
  • The protein powder and Greek yogurt together keep you full until lunch without that midmorning crash that sends you diving into the snack drawer.
02 -
  • If you skip the chia seeds entirely the mixture will be thin and sad, and nothing you do later can fix that so just use them.
  • Some protein powders thicken aggressively overnight while others barely change the texture, so test your brand once before committing to a full week of meal prep.
03 -
  • Layer the toppings between the oats rather than only on top for flavor in every single bite instead of just the first three spoonfuls.
  • A pinch of salt sounds wrong in breakfast but it makes every flavor pop and takes the oats from flat to vibrant with zero extra effort.
